NPO has a long history which started over 30 years ago when Ed and Dawn Zacharias departed Litton Laser to open the Broomer Research South facility in Bradenton, FL.  Shortly thereafter, they founded their own optics manufacturing operation under the name of Florida High Tech Optics.  For 20 years Florida High Tech served the defense, aerospace, industrial, medical and research industries building a reputation for a high level of customer service and quality workmanship.  In 2009 Florida High Tech received the prestigious L3 Supplier Award for supporting our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

In 2014 Florida High Tech changed its name to Next Phase Optics (NPO).  Then in 2016 Next Phase Optics was purchased by Salvo Technologies as a strategic acquisition to further integrate their supply chain into their internal operation.   Building on the strong foundation of Florida High Tech, the management of Salvo Technologies is expanding its capabilities and product lines to better serve NPO’s customers while maintaining the customer service and the high level of quality for which the company has always been known.
